How Managers Approve Goal Plan Changes

When a team member submits their goal plan changes for approval, their manager is notified so that they can take appropriate action.

Managers can see that their approval is required in these ways:

  • Worklist notification
  • Email notification
  • Approval banner on the team member’s goal page

Worklist Notification

Here's how managers can use their worklist notification to manage goal plan approvals:

  1. Click the worklist notification to view the goal plan submitted for approval.
  2. Perform any of these actions:
    • To approve or reject the goal plan changes, click appropriate buttons.
    • To view details, click the approval message link.
    • To request more information from the initiator, from the Actions menu, select the Request Information action.

Email Notification

Here's how managers can use their email notification to manage goal plan approvals:

  • View the details of the goal plan submitted for approval.
  • Approve or reject the goal plan changes.
  • Use the Manage Goals link to navigate to the Goals page of the employee who has submitted the goal plan for approval.

When a manager views the goal plan that a team member has submitted for approval, they can see a banner that their approval is required. They can click the See details link to view the approval notification. Here they can do one of these actions:

  • Approve or reject the goal plan changes.
  • Request more information from the initiator.
  • View the approval history.
  • Edit goal info. The manager is taken to the Goals page of the employee and can see a Submit button on the approval banner to submit their changes.
