How You Add Talent Pool Members as Succession Plan Candidates

You can add talent pool members as candidates to a succession plan for which you’re an administrator or candidate manager.

These considerations apply when you try to add members from talent pools as succession plan candidates:

  • You can only add members from talent pools you own.
  • You can’t edit the talent pool that you select for adding members.
  • You can’t add yourself as a succession plan candidate if you’re a member of the selected pool.

To add talent pool members as succession plan candidates:

  1. Open the succession plan and expand the Candidates section.
  2. Select the Talent Pool Members option in the Add menu.

You can see the Add from Talent Pool page. The Pool Name list shows only the talent pools that you own.

  3. From the Pool Name list, select the talent pool from which you want to add candidates.

In the Members section, you can see only members for whom you have succession data security access. You can expand a member row to view additional details about the member.

  4. Select the members who you want to add to the succession plan. You can add inactive pool members also.
Tip: Click Select All to select all the members.
  5. Click Add to add the members.

Selected members who already are candidates in the succession plan aren’t added again. A succession plan can have a maximum of 500 candidates. If after adding the pool members, the candidate count exceeds 500, then you will see an error message.

When you try to add talent pool members while creating a new succession plan, the selected members are added as candidates only when you save the succession plan. But when you try to add talent pool members while editing an existing succession plan, the selected pool members are automatically added to the plan when you click Add on the Add from Talent Pool page.
