Air Schedules

Note: Air schedules are not provided with your Oracle Transportation Management implementation. To use this feature, your organization must first obtain air schedule data from a public provider. Contact your implementation representative for further information.

This page is accessed via:

  • Ask Oracle > Air Schedules
  • Operational Planning > Ask Oracle > Air Schedules

The Air Schedules query helps you find passenger and cargo flights based on departure and arrival information. You can narrow your searches by airline, aircraft, and other criteria. These schedules are also used to plan shipments that require air transportation.

To assign a flight beyond the order time window, you may want to extend the time window using the parameter "NUM OF DAYS ADDED TO LD FOR SEARCH SCHEDULE".

Departure/Arrival Information

Finding Schedules

  1. Specify either the Departure/Arrival Airport Code or the Departure/Arrival City Code using standard International Air Transport Association ( IATA) codes. For example, enter PHL and LAX to find flights between Philadelphia International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport.

Unless a city has multiple airports, its IATA airport and city codes are usually the same. For example, the IATA city code for New York is NYC and valid IATA airport codes include JFK, LGA, and so on. In that case, the airport codes may differ from the city code.

Note: If you do not know an airport's IATA code, use the Airports Ask Oracle to find it.

  2. Specify a Departure Date and an Arrival Date.
  3. If needed, select Earliest and Latest Departure and Arrival Times.
  4. If needed, enter Restrictions for your search. (See below.)

Note: To save this query, enter a Saved Query and click save.

  5. Click Find Schedules.

Restrictions

You can fine-tune your searches for air schedules by selecting one or more of these search restrictions:

  • Use Single Airline. In some cases, connecting flights are not always scheduled using the same airline. Select Yes to indicate that flights must use the same airline across connections.
  • Specific Airline. This field narrows the search to a specific airline. If you know the specific airline code, enter it directly in the field, for example US for US Airways or UA for United Airlines. You can also search for an airline that displays the Search page for service providers since airlines are modeled as service providers in Oracle Transportation Management.
  • Airplane. This field limits the type of aircraft equipment. For example, enter 747 to search for flights that use a Boeing 747 plane.
  • Flight Type. This field specifies searches for all flights, direct flights, or flights with one or two connections.
  • Minimum/Maximum Connection Time. For connecting flights, specify the minimum or maximum connection time.
  • Cargo/Passenger. This field specifies searches for cargo flights, passenger flights, or both.

Results

The Air Schedules Results page lists each flight with its source and destination arrival date/times, airline, aircraft type, and connection time. Unless you request only direct flights, connecting flights are also listed. However, departure and arrival date/times for interim connections are not listed.
