Brokerage and Forwarding

Services Topic

This page is accessed via Brokerage and Forwarding > Power Data > General > Services.

The Services Manager page saves customer service details.

Enter new services in the top of the page. The bottom of the page shows existing services (for reference only), so you can see existing services while creating new ones. There should not be two services with the same priorities or the same order release template.

About Services

Services functionality provides a way to track and maintain services to which a customer subscribes. The customer could be internal or external. The services could include transport services, data services and operational services. For templates to be applied, Oracle Transportation Management checks the buyer (destination) and service. Further constraints of a source location and/or packaged item can also be defined.

For example, you could specify that orders from PHL to CHI with a packaged item of Seat, ship direct. The resulting workflow would set the Ship Direct check box to On (selected). You could have another scenario that an order from PHL to LAX with a packaged item of Seat would ship through a cross-dock. Then the Must Ship Through Cross-dock check box would be selected. If the scenarios overlap, the one with the higher priority takes precedence. Service templates are defined on the Buyer with the details on the Templates tab of the Buyer manager.

Services can be added to order releases via the following ways:

  • Manually - run the action Auto Apply Services
  • Auto Assigned - via an agent action
  • Via Integration (new or modified orders)

Adding a Service

  1. Enter a unique Service ID.
  2. If you want, enter a Description of the service.
  3. Enter a Priority; the higher the number, the higher the priority.

Note: You may want to enter priorities in increments of 10s or 100s so there is room to insert priorities in the future as needed. You can enter up to 8 numbers in the field.

  4. Select the Order Release Template to be applied to this service.
  5. Select a Domain Name.
  6. Select the Active check box to make the service active.
