Status Types

This page is accessed via Configuration and Administration > Power Data > General > Status Types.

Status types and status values indicate the current status of business objects throughout the logistics workflow. Status types and values show you that an order has been created, a shipment tendered, an invoice approved, and so on.

Each status type pertains to a particular business object and is modified by appropriate status values. For example, the BILL_APPROVAL status type has these status values:

  • BILL_APPROVAL_NOT_APPROVED
  • BILL_APPROVAL_APPROVED
  • BILL_APPROVAL_APPROVED_FINAL

Oracle Transportation Management includes hundreds of internal (that is, preset) status types and values that cannot be edited. However, you can create and edit external (that is, user-defined) status types and values and assign them to various business objects. You can use these external statuses in agents to create your own workflow processes.

Additionally, you can search for business objects based on their internal and external status values and types.

Creating External Status Types

  1. Enter a unique Status Type ID.
  2. Enter a Sequence number that identifies its position in lists for any Status Type field. If you do not enter a number, the status type appears at the top of the list.
  3. Select an Object Type to associate the status with a specific business object.
  4. Select the Domain Name in which to store the external status.
  5. Enter text that describes the meaning for the status type in the Description field.
  6. Use the bottom of the page to define the appropriate values for the status type by entering an ID, a brief Description for reference. Indicate the description to also be the default value by selecting Initial Value.
  7. Click Save after each status value entry.
  8. Click Finished.

Assign to Business Objects

Once you create these statuses, use the Change External Status action in most managers to assign the new status type and values to a business object.
