Change External Status

Use this action to assign or change an external status on a business object. External statuses are used to automate system processes against business objects such as orders, shipments, shipment groups, locations, and bills or invoices.

Internal status types and values are used to complete system tasks, including shipment-related functions and event management. After these tasks are completed, external status types and their associated values are used to transmit data via integration and to configure agents, enabling third-party applications that integrate with Oracle Transportation Management to receive data as the next step in the supply chain.
