Shipment Management

Bucket Type

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Power Data > SKU Types > Bucket Type.

Bucket types are user-defined. Some possible examples include "Committed," "In-Transit," and "On-Hand." There are different bucket categories: instance bucket and total bucket. An instance bucket is one that exists directly on a location and to which assets can actually be linked. Total buckets are aggregates of two or more child buckets. A bucket is considered a Total Bucket if you select the Total check box.

Adding a Bucket Type

  1. Enter a unique Bucket Type to identify the cost type.
  2. Select a Domain Name.
  3. Enter a Description.
  4. Select the Total check box if this bucket has child buckets associated with it. When selected, the Child Bucket Types section appears.
  5. Select the Auto Link check box if the instance bucket supports the automatic association of assets to itself with add, remove, and move actions. The setting of this check box also affects the Increment Bucket and Decrement Bucket agent actions for drivers, equipment, and power units. If the check box is selected and the Increment agent actions are run, then the automatic association is made. Conversely, if the Decrement agent actions are run, then the association is ended. This check box is not available when the Total check box is selected.

Child Bucket Types

This section is visible if the Total check box is selected. It tracks child buckets associated with a totals bucket.

  1. Enter a Bucket Type ID.
  2. Enter a Sequence Number.
  3. Click Save for each bucket type you define.
  4. When viewing or editing a bucket type, you can click the Show Hierarchy button to display the relationship between buckets and child buckets.
  5. Click Finished.
