Rate Classifications

This page is accessed via Contract and Rate Management > Power Data > Contracts > Rate Classifications.

You can define rate classifications to help qualify rates for shipments. Two standard classifications, Residential and Commercial, are shipped with Oracle Transportation Management. Others can be added in power data. While classifications do not affect the actual shipping cost in any way, they are used to qualify rates. A rate offering cannot be used to cost a shipment if the rate classification of the offering does not match the classification for the Destination location of the shipment.
