Viewing System Log Files

The Log Viewer page displays after clicking View Results from the System Log Entry Selection page. The top of the page displays the Log Search and number of Backups.

  • The Time column contains the exact date and time that this corresponding system log entry was written to the log file. The time is pulled from the Oracle Transportation Management server.
  • In the Process column displays the Process ID generated by Oracle Transportation Management. Each Oracle Transportation Management process such as tendering, building a shipment, etc is given a Process ID. You can search on or look for a specific Process ID when troubleshooting.
  • The Server column displays the server on which the event took place. This column only appears when you select a or network scalability mode.
  • The Severity column displays the severity; for example, Error or Warning or Explanation.
  • The ID column corresponds to the log file options you set when configuring the log file.
  • The System Log column contains the actual log file message or details of what Oracle Transportation Management was doing. For example, an entry in the System column of "[INFEASIBLE] - No base cost calculated. [RACGrid2.costShipment()]" shows that Oracle Transportation Management could not find a base cost for a Rate an therefore could not create a shipment.
