Unit Break Costs
Use this page to define when and what costs apply to shipments.
See the property glog.RateGeoCostUnitBreaks.display.max.
Define Costs
Enter the Charge Amount for each rate unit break you have defined in your rate unit break profile.
Note: You will see different Charge Amount fields (either Max, Min, or Equal) depending on the Lookup Type selected when you defined your rate unit break profile.
Alternatively, enter the Discount % (of the total cost as calculated so far) for each rate unit break in your rate unit break profile. If you enter both a charge amount and a charge discount, the charge amount is added to the running total before the discount is applied.
Example 1
Shipment weight is 7500 pounds- rate @ 7000 pounds: $0.085/pound = $637.50
- rate @ 8000 pounds: $0.075/pound = $600.00
Example 2
If there is also a discount charge:
- 0-7999 pounds, apply 50% discount
- 8000 and up, apply 45% discount
Oracle Transportation Management then calculates:
- $637.50 * 0.50 = $318.75
- $600.00 * 0.55 = $330.00
So Oracle Transportation Management picks the 7000 pound rate instead.
