Manual Repack Equipment

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Shipment Management > Buy Shipments > Actions > Shipment Management > Change Shipment Details > Manual Repack Equipment.

Use this action when you want to take the entire shipment with its associated shipment equipment records and manually repack the equipment.

Note: You can configure this action using the MANUAL_REPACK_EQUIPMENT public manager layout. For example, you can rename and rearrange fields on this action to meet your businesses needs.

Shipment Equipment

On the Manual Repack Equipment Input page, you can see the list of all shipment equipment and its associated ship units. Values on this page define the details of equipment used on shipments.

Note: OTM displays only the list of freight shipment equipment.

You can select any ship unit and repack it into available equipment or delete part of ship unit or move part of ship unit to order movement. You can perform the following actions:

  • Add a new equipment of selected equipment group type.
  • Move a ship unit from one shipment equipment to another.
  • Split a ship unit to move a certain unit count from one shipment equipment to other.
  • Add new shipment equipment and move whole or partial ship units.
  • Delete a ship unit or delete it from the shipment equipment or move it to on an order movement.
  • Delete part of the ship unit and split the ship unit count and retain the remaining ship unit. You can delete the split-off count or move the count to on an order movement.
  • For combo equipment, you cannot add new shipment equipment. However, you can move a ship unit between multiple shipment equipment if they have the same pickup and drop off stops.

If a shipment equipment is not reused by other shipments, its travel path is the source to destination of this shipment. Such shipment equipment will have the same Travel Path Number. If a shipment equipment is reused by upstream or downstream shipments, its travel path would be the source of the first shipment that reuse this equipment, goes through the destination of the shipment and then reuse shipment's source and destination till the last reuse shipment. Shipment equipment with the same travel path is assigned the same travel path number.

The Repack button allows you to repack ship units to available equipment or delete part of ship units or move part of ship units to order movement. You can also associate ship units with the equipment compartment.

Add Equipment

Enter the Equipment Group ID to associate equipment with ship units. The equipment group ID is the alpha-numeric string that identifies the equipment group being created (for example, 28FT Dry Van).

Click Add Equipment. The equipment group ID you added is listed in a new row under the Shipment Equipment section.

After you complete executing the manual repack equipment action, OTM saves the newly added equipment to the shipment as the s_equipment record. You can now edit the equipment in the shipment manager to add additional identifying marks, seals, etc that you want.

Note: The newly added equipment will be empty equipment which has the Delete option. You can add multiple equipment group IDs.

Unassigned Ship Units

This section provides details about the ship unit such as Ship Unit ID and Unit Count, Unit Weight and Volume, Action Type. You can see the list of unassigned ship units. You can select any ship unit and can repack ship units based on your requirement.

Note: The Delete button is displayed for empty equipment.

The Repack button is available for unassigned ship units. You will be able to move the ship unit count to other equipment.

When you click the Simulate Results button, OTM redirects to intermediate results page.

Click the Finished button to navigate to the Manual Repack Equipment Result page.
