Ground Schedule/Ground Service Stop

This page is accessed via:

  • Operational Planning > Schedule Management > Ground Schedule. Then click New Stop.
  • Operational Planning > Schedule Management > Ground Service. Then click New Stop.

The stops page allows you to define pickup and deliver stops for your schedules. Depending on the schedule type you are working with, the options for defining your stops vary.

You are able to add new stops to new Ground Schedules and edit ones that have no shipments generated against them. You cannot add or delete stops for schedules that have shipments generated.

Ground Service and Static Trip

The criteria for setting up a ground service and a static trip are similar.

In the Sequence Number field, enter any unique number for the stop. You can add this but once added, it cannot be edited.

Use the Stop Number field to specify the order in which goods should move from stop to stop. The Stop Number also controls the order in which the stops are displayed on the page.

You must also identify the Location of the stop.

For static trips, in the Stop Requirement Type field, specify whether the stop is one of the following:

  • Mandatory: The trip must stop at this location regardless of whether there are any orders for it.
  • Optional: The stop will be skipped if there are no orders on the trip for it.

Note: Stop Requirement Type is only applicable to Static Trips.

Check Allow Pickup to allow Oracle Transportation Management to add orders for pick up at this stop. If this option is checked, you will be prompted to enter a maximum weight and volume for the pickup order.

Check Allow Delivery to allow Oracle Transportation Management to add orders for delivery at this stop. If this option is checked, you will be prompted to enter a maximum weight and volume for the delivery order.

Enter a Repetition Schedule Activity. These are defined in Power Data. The Adjustment fields are relative to midnight of each day the Ground Service or Static Trip starts. For example, to specify a time of 8:00 AM, enter 0D 8H 0M.

Note: You must specify both an Arrive and a Depart activity for a Static Trip.

Dynamic Trip

The criteria for setting up a dynamic trip are different than ground services and static trips. There are, however, some fields that are the same, including:

  • Sequence Number
  • Stop Number
  • Location ID
  • Stop Requirement Type
  • Allow Pickup

The Drive Time from Prev Stop field is unique to dynamic trips. This specifies how much driving time exists between this stop and the next stop.

Ground Schedule and Detachable Trip

If you are adding stops to a ground schedule for a detachable trip, two additional options are available.

  • Fixed Arrival: Select this option if the arrival is fixed.
  • Fixed Departure: Select this option if the departure is fixed.
