Create Credit Notes

This action is accessed via Financials > Payment Invoice Management > Payment Invoice > Actions > Financials > Invoice > Create Credit Note as well as Financials > Billing Management > Billing > Actions > Financials > Bill > Create Credit Note.

Running this action creates a credit note against this invoice. Credit notes are used for auditing to effectively "cancel out" a rejected invoice. Credit notes are represented as invoices, but are not actually processed.

All the information from the invoice is copied over to the new credit note. The amount of each line item on the invoice should be negated and a reference number with qualifier CREDIT NOTE TO INVOICE pointing to the original invoice should be added to the credit note. The credit note is matched to the same shipments as the invoice. This credit note invoice is then brought up in the user interface in edit mode.
