Order Management
Planning Criteria
Use this page to define planning criteria for action processing. You can change the default parameter set. You can also select the planning constraints that you want ignored during action processing.
Note: You need to configure this for each action for which you want to see the ignore page. (e.g. BUILD BUY SHIPMENT). This is done via the Configuring Actions page. See the Configure Action Attributes section.
This page can be accessed several different ways. One way is by creating a shipment from an order base, and then making it a direct shipment.
You can select the Constraint Category (Order, Commodity, Itinerary, etc) to have Oracle Transportation Management ignore all lower level field constraints (Rate Offering, Rate Record, Service Provider, etc) or you can expand the Constraint Category and selectively choose the field constraints that you want ignored.
Note: If you select a check box for an entire section, such as the Order Constraints section, then you are indicating that all check boxes that appear within that section are ignored. However, if the section contains a drop-down list, such as Preferred Rate in the Rate Constraints section, selecting the section's check box does not override the setting in the drop-down list. Selecting the section's check box only overrides the lower level check boxes without affecting the selection in the drop-down list.
Include the Following Constraints
Parameter Set ID
If you do not want to accept the default parameter set (defaults from user preferences if defined or from domain), select another Parameter Set ID.
Order Constraints
Date Emphasis (NONE, BOTH, SHIP, DELV, PAST, As Defined on the Order):
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the Date Emphasis = NONE.
Equipment
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes equipment on the order base is NULL. It then bypasses initializing the equipment group profile during the planning process.
Itinerary
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the fixed buy/sell itinerary is blank on the order.
Rate Record
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the fixed rate record is blank on the order.
Service Provider
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the service provider on an order base is blank, and bypasses initializing the service provider profile on the order.
Transport Mode
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the transport mode/mode profile on the order base is blank and bypasses initializing the mode profile on the order.
Rate Offering
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the fixed buy/sell rate offering is blank on the order.
Order Movement Constraints
In order bundling, when two order movements do not have the same original leg position or same original leg ID, they will not bundle together.
Bulk plan does not check these constraints.
Order Movement Original Leg Position
- Build direct shipment (order movement action)
- Build multistop shipment (order movement action)
These three actions have always allowed order movements with different original leg positions to be bundled on the same shipment.
- Move to shipment (order movement action)
- Move to consol shipment (order movement action)
- Split shipment (shipment action)
Order Movement Original Leg ID
- Build direct shipment (order movement action)
- Build multistop shipment (order movement action)
Commodity Constraints
Commodity Compatibility
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management bypasses checking commodity compatibility with the order.
The property glog.business.consolidation.multistop.commodityBundlingCheckRequiredInMultistop provides an option to allow commodity check in multistop even when the order bundle rule set does not include the commodity rule. This can be done by setting this property to true. The default is false.
Equipment
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the equipment on the commodity is blank and bypasses equipment compatibility checking between commodity and the order.
Temperature
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the commodity is not temperature-controlled and bypasses setting temperature control logic during planning so the minimum and maximum temperature will remain the default value of zero.
Transport Mode
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the transport mode on a commodity is blank and bypasses mode compatibility checking between the commodity and the order.
Itinerary Constraints
Equipment Profile/Set
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the equipment profile/set on the itinerary is blank and only gets the equipment group from the order base.
Service Provider
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the service provider on the itinerary is blank and gets the service provider profile from the order base, not from the itinerary.
Rate Offering, Rate Record, Transport Mode
Same as above.
Location Constraints
Calendar
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes there is no calendar defined on a location role profile for this location. When calculating service time Oracle Transportation Management bypasses checking whether a certain time is a work period.
Equipment
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes equipment group profile on the location is blank.
Location Compatibility
If ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes one location is always compatible with another location.
Service Provider
If ignored, Oracle Transportation Management assumes the service provider profile on a location is blank.
Location Capacity
If ignored, Oracle Transportation Management bypasses the settings in the location capacity constraint for the order.
Equipment Constraints
Equipment Capacity
Only affects the Move Order to Existing Shipment and Merge Shipments actions and does not impact the build shipment or container optimization process.
See the topic Adjusted Equipment Capacity for details on how this works with the Adjusted Equipment Capacity Percentage parameter.
Load Configuration
This allows you to turn off the current load configuration setting by the parameter Load Configuration Engine Type.
Rate Constraints
Carrier Capacity
When ignored, and carrier capacity over limit, keep the carrier and update the capacity usage count, so the usage may be higher than limit. The value of the criteria will be passed to "check_carrier_capacity" on shipment.
Preferred Rate
For this action, you can select how you want preferred rates handled.
Multi-Stop Constraints
Cost Savings
This constraint allows you to specify if you want to use the parameter or you can specify when and if cost savings are checked.
Distance Saving Check
When ignored, Oracle Transportation Management combines shipments even if there is no distance saving.
Time Feasibility Between Stops
This constraint allows you to specify if you want to use the parameter or to check time feasibility or not.
LIFO Stop Sequence
This constraint allows you to specify if you want to use the parameter or you can select to use LIFO stop sequence or not.
Routing Sequence
This constraint allows you to specify if you want to use the parameter or you can select to use routing sequence or not.
Carrier Commitment Constraints
This option has several possible selections:
- Use Planning Parameter: If selected this will force the system to consider the Apply Commitment on the Most Specific Lane parameter.
- Use Carrier Commitment in Planning Shipment: Using this option overrides the value of the Apply Commitment on the Most Specific Lane parameter.
- Not Use Carrier Commitment in Planning Shipment: Using this option overrides the value of the Apply Commitment on the Most Specific Lane parameter.
Route Execution Constraints
This constraint allows you to specify if you want to use the parameter or you can select whether to plan the shipment on the route instance.
Other Constraints
Service Time Feasibility
All service time constraints that are used to determine the feasibility of a shipment can be ignored, such as the early/late pickup and delivery dates on the order.
