Shipment Management

Search Shipment Events (Buy or Sell)

The Shipment search page helps you locate Buy or Sell Shipments (depending on the menu option you selected). You can then view or add shipment events to the shipments. Shipment events provide information about the current activity on a shipment. If a problem occurs, the events describe it and provide an explanation for why it happened.

Note: If you choose this menu option in a planner domain, the candidate shipments are those in that domain. However, if you log into the SERVPROV domain, the candidate shipments that you can record events for are those where the user acts as carrier or dispatcher (as defined by the user-service provider association). Use the Search page to further limit these shipments by the criteria available on that page.

Once you conduct a search for shipments, you can add shipment events for any Buy shipment with one of the following SECURE RESOURCES status values:

  • SECURE RESOURCES_BOOKED
  • SECURE RESOURCES_TENDERED
  • SECURE RESOURCES_PICKUP NOTIFICATION
  • SECURE RESOURCES_ACCEPTED
  • SECURE RESOURCES_BOL

Note: You can configure Oracle Transportation Management to accept shipment events with any kind of shipment status. See the property glog.shipment.event.checkstatus.

Note: You can record events for sell shipments regardless of status.

Find Shipments

Complete the appropriate fields on the Search page to construct the query that you want and click Search. You can search for shipments by shipment or order base Reference Number or by Pickup and Delivery date. Leave the Search page blank to find all records.

Note: If you enter just shipment reference number data, the shipment is displayed even if the order base from the shipment does not have the same reference number/qualifier and vice-versa.

Reference Numbers

The following rules apply when searching by Reference Number or Reference Number Qualifier.

  • If you enter a Reference Number Qualifier, only those shipments that have that qualifier are included in the result.
  • If you enter a Reference Number Qualifier, the results show the Reference Number for that qualifier.
  • If you do not enter a Reference Number Qualifier or Value, all shipments matching the overall planner/service provider filter are shown.
  • If you enter a Reference Number that is the object ID of either the shipment or order, you must include the domain name. For example for shipment 12345 must be domain.12345.
  • If you enter a Shipment Reference Number only, shipments matching that Reference Number with a qualifier of BM are displayed. The default qualifier can be changed via the glog.shipmentstatus.defalutRefnumQualGid property.
  • If you enter an Order Reference Number only, shipments matching that Reference Number with a qualifier of GLOG are displayed. The default qualifier can be changed via the glog.shipmentstatus.defaultOBRefnumQualGid property.

Order Base ID

Use this field to locate shipments by Order Base ID. In this case, you do not need to include the domain name (as opposed to IDs entered as reference numbers above).

Save Query

You can save your search criteria in a Saved Query for re-use and sort the resulting records.
