Shipment Management

Move Container Group to Shipment

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Group Management > Container Group > Actions > Move Container Group to Shipment.

Use this action to move a container group from one shipment (voyage/unitized) to another shipment (voyage/unitized).

The following rules apply to use this action:

  • The To Shipment must have the same source/destination location as the From Shipment.
  • The To Shipment must meet the time window of the order movements inside the container group.
  • The To Shipment Stowage Mode must be UNITIZED.

When you specify to move container 1 to shipment 1, Oracle Transportation Management will find the order movements for the container through its s ship units, these order movement's original leg is the same with the shipment's parent leg, in this case it would be: OM1 and OM2. Then Oracle Transportation Management plans the order movements to shipment.

This action has the following restriction:

  • The shipment involved cannot be a consol shipment since containers are grouped into container groups in the consol shipment, each container group has a Unitization Request Type which is CUSTOMER or LOGISTICS. When Oracle Transportation Management unassigns the container, there is no container group, anymore, then when we move this container back to a another consol shipment, we cannot recreate the container group for this container.

Note: Consol shipment should be the final home for the containers. Once unassigned from the consol, the container is deleted.
