Order Management

Order Base/Release Leg Constraints

This page is accessed via:

  • Order Management > Purchase Order > Order Base. Click the Constraints tab. Click the New Order Base Constraint button at the bottom of the page.
  • Order Management > Order Release > Order Release. Click the Constraints tab. Click the New Order Release Constraint button at the bottom of the page.

Order-level constraints defined on the Constraints tab apply only to the shipment that is built on the primary leg of the itinerary. You can use this page to define constraints for a leg classification that can be assigned to any itinerary leg and Oracle Transportation Management will honor the leg-level constraints during order bundling and shipment planning. For example, you can apply constraints to the customer delivery leg only.

Since a constraint can be at the order level as well as order-leg level, constraints are applied as follows:

If a leg has the Leg Classification specified:

  • If the leg-level constraint exists, it will be used.
  • If the leg-level constraint does not exist:
    • If this is not the primary leg, OTM does nothing.
    • If this is the primary leg and order-level constraint exists, they will be used.

If a leg does not have the Leg Classification specified:

  • If this is not the primary leg, OTM does nothing.
  • If this is the primary leg and order-level constraint exists, they will be used.
