Tender Group

This page is accessed via Shipment Management > Group Management > Shipment Group > Actions > Tender >Tender Group

Using this action, Oracle Transportation Management tenders the shipment group to the service provider associated with the shipment group. To tender the shipment group successfully, the application validates the following conditions:

• Service provider is defined for the shipment group.
• Each shipment within the shipment group uses the same service provider assigned to the shipment group.  
• Shipment group tender is allowed only for full shipments. Optionally it also supports secondary charge shipments. 
• Allow Shipment Group Tender checkbox should be selected on the Service Provider Manager.

You can view the status of the tendered shipment group with the status type SECURE SHIP GROUP RESOURCES.

When you tender a shipment group, the application will perform the following actions:

• Sends notice of the tender offer to the service provider.
• Starts a timer that defines how long the service provider has in order to respond to the tender before it is timed out.
• Updates the shipment status to SECURE SHIP GROUP RESOURCES_TENDERED.

If a location becomes inactive after the shipment group is created, you will not be able to tender the shipment group with an inactive stop location.

After you tender the shipment group to a service provider, the service provider accepts or declines the tender. Service providers can respond to a tender by using Shipment Group Booking/Tendering.

You can have Oracle Transportation Management send notification to involved parties when a shipment group is tendered.

Note: The expected response time will be calculated based on service provider calendar setup.

Once the shipment group is tendered, moving/removing shipments (or partial shipments) into the shipment group are restricted.

The below shipment group level actions are restricted for tendered shipment groups:

• Add Partial Shipments to Group
• Add Shipments to Group
• Combine Shipment Groups
• Remove Shipments from Group
• Split Shipment Group

Note: The action Remove Partial Shipments from Group will not be considered, as shipment groups containing partial shipments cannot be tendered initially.

The below shipment level actions are restricted for tendered shipment groups:

• Add Partial Shipments to Group
• Add Shipments to Group
• Create Shipment Group
• Create Shipment Group Auto
• Remove Shipments from Group
