Prevent Appending Scanned Values during RF Transactions
Certain warehouse operations will result in prompting and defaulting the input value in pop-up screens so that you can confirm the prompted value or override with a different value. In Oracle WMS Cloud, popup dialog boxes default batch numbers have the text highlighted so that the scanned value will overwrite the batch number. You don't have to manually delete the characters before scanning.
During RF Receiving, the system prompts for the batch number as a pop-up screen. If the batch number is present on the shipment detail, the system defaults the batch number based on item settings. You will see the defaulted text selected which ensures that you can scan a new value without the defaulted value getting appended.
Dialogue Popup Screen Behavior when Text is Defaulted
- When a value is prepopulated, the text is highlighted using a reverse color of the text. After pressing enter/tab, the system will accept the selected text.
- Typing something else will delete all selected text and replace it with typed or scanned text. If you want to edit or add to it, press an arrow key which removes the selection and lets the user edit. If you press tab or enter, then the text is accepted as is.
- If you press any arrow key, the selection is removed.
- Once an arrow key is pressed, any character typed will get appended or will overwrite the characters depending on where the cursor is, as normal behavior in RF.
- If you press any other key (other than arrows, tab or enter), the system will delete
the selected text and start from scratch.Note: The highlighted text option is currently applicable for dialog popups that allow a barcode type. This is NOT applicable for expiry date popup dialogs or for the Inventory Attributes screen which displays after a sku barcode scan.
