Workaround is to refresh the browser and navigate to the required screen.

Bug 33897918 - In the Maintenance Object search & similar user interface pages, when selecting a value from a drop down, the focus shifts to an element other than the drop down, while the user filters are loading. Bug 33941490 - When the dashboard is placed on the left, then the main area of the page is the 'end' of the page. After tabbing out of the last clickable item on the page, after about 18-20 clicks the focus is back at the top of the browser page. The keyboard hot keys of Alt+[ and Alt+] can be used to jump to the desired section / zone without relying on the tabbing only.
