Preface

Oracle APEX is a hosted declarative development environment for developing and deploying database-centric web applications. APEX turns a single Oracle database into a shared service by enabling multiple workgroups to build and access applications as if they were running in separate databases.

Audience

Oracle APEX Administration Guide describes how to perform administration tasks for an Oracle APEX workspace, application, or an entire development instance.

To use this guide, you must have a general understanding of relational database concepts and an understanding of the operating system environment under which you are running Oracle APEX.

Convention	Meaning
boldface	Boldface type indicates graphical user interface elements associated with an action, or terms defined in text or the glossary.
italic	Italic type indicates book titles, emphasis, or placeholder variables for which you supply particular values.
monospace	Monospace type indicates commands within a paragraph, URLs, code in examples, text that appears on the screen, or text that you enter.
