15.2.4 Editing Breadcrumbs

Edit breadcrumbs and breadcrunb entries in Shared Components and edit breadcrumb attributes in Page Designer.

15.2.4.1 Editing Breadcrumbs in Shared Components

Once you create a breadcrumb, you can edit it on the Breadcrumbs page in Shared Components.

To edit a breadcrumb:

  1. Navigate to the Breadcrumbs page:
    1. On the Workspace home page, click the App Builder icon.
    2. Select an application.
    3. On the Application home page, click Shared Components.
    4. Under Navigation, select Breadcrumbs.
      The Breadcrumbs page appears.
  2. To edit the breadcrumb name or delete a breadcrumb:
    1. Click the Edit icon.
      The Create/Edit Breadcrumb dialog appears.
    2. To edit the name, update Breadcrumb Name and click Apply Changes.
    3. To delete the breadcrumb, click Delete.
  3. To edit breadcrumb entries:
    1. Click the breadcrumb name.
      The Entries page appears.
    2. Click an entry.
    3. On Create/Edit page, edit the appropriate attributes.
      To learn more about a specific attribute, see field-level Help.
    4. (Optional) Synchronize the corresponding Page Name and Title with the Breadcrumb Short Name.

      In the right region under Breadcrumb Entry, Synchronize Breadcrumb, select Page Name and Title

      Selecting this option makes changing the name of a page and breadcrumb a one-step process. The information you provide for breadcrumb names is used to update the referenced page name and title.

    5. Click Apply Changes.

15.2.4.2 Reparenting Breadcrumb Entries

Select a new parent for selected breadcrumb entries on the Reparent Entries page.

To reparent breadcrumb entries:

  1. Navigate to the Breadcrumbs page:
    1. Navigate to the Workspace home page.
    2. Click the App Builder icon.
    3. Select an application.
    4. On the Application home page, click Shared Components.
    5. Under Navigation, select Breadcrumbs.
      The Breadcrumbs page appears.
  2. Click the breadcrumb name.
    The Entries page appears.
  3. From the Tasks list, click Reparent Entries within this Breadcrumb.
    The Reparent Entries page appears.
  4. Use the navigation bar to edit or filter the view:
    • Breadcrumb - Identify the breadcrumb you want to edit and click Go.
    • Start With - Make a selection to restrict your view to a subset of the breadcrumb hierarchy and click Go.
  5. From Reparent to, select the new parent.
  6. Select the breadcrumbs entries you want to move and click Reparent Checked Entries.

15.2.4.3 Deleting Unused Breadcrumb Entries

Delete unused breadcrumb entries.

  1. Navigate to the Breadcrumbs page:
    1. Navigate to the Workspace home page.
    2. Click the App Builder icon.
    3. Select an application.
    4. On the Application home page, click Shared Components.
    5. Under Navigation, select Breadcrumbs.
      The Breadcrumbs page appears.
  2. Click the breadcrumb name.
    The Entries page appears.
  3. From the Tasks list, click Delete Unused Breadcrumb Entries.
    The Delete page appears.
  4. Select the entries to remove and click Delete Checked.

15.2.4.4 Editing Breadcrumb Attributes

Edit Region attributes and Breadcrumb attributes in Page Designer.

Region attributes define the area of the page which functions as a container for the breadcrumb. Edit breadcrumb Attributes to change the Breadcrumb Template, Template Options, and CSS Classes.

To edit region attributes:

  1. View the page in Page Designer.
    1. On the Workspace home page, click the App Builder icon.
    2. Select an application.
    3. Select a page.
    Page Designer appears.
  2. To edit Region attributes:
    1. In the Rendering tab, select the region containing the breadcrumb.
    2. The Property Editor displays the region attributes in the Region tab.
    3. Edit the appropriate attributes.
      To learn more about an attribute, select the attribute in the Property Editor and click the Help tab in the center pane.
  3. To edit breadcrumb Attributes:
    1. In the Rendering tab, select the region containing the breadcrumb.

      The Property Editor displays the region attributes in the Attributes tab.

    2. Edit the appropriate attributes.
      To learn more about an attribute, select the attribute in the Property Editor and click the Help tab in the center pane.
  4. Click Save.
