UI Performance Enhancements for Data Discovery and Data Masking

  • Optimized Workflow Execution: Perform workflows without unnecessary delays by loading only the data required for the requested operation, reducing resource usage and user wait times.
  • Responsive Design: A UI that seamlessly adapts to devices of various sizes, ensuring a consistent experience across desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Faster Workflow Execution: Enhanced flow execution times for operations like creating masking formats or definitions, leveraging Oracle JET UI and optimizations such as lazy loading.
  • Improved Filtering: Enable faster, client-side searches by eagerly loading data, removing dependency on server-side filtering.
  • Support for Bulk Operations: Simplify repetitive tasks with bulk operations, such as adding sensitive columns in bulk, minimizing clicks and effort.
  • Intuitive Masking Format Creation: Simplify the creation of custom masking formats with drag-and-drop support for reorganizing format entries.

What's new in Oracle Data Masking and Subsetting Release 1 Update 3 (RU03)

This section describes the features introduced in Oracle Data Masking and Subsetting Release 1 Update 3 (RU03).

New Sensitive Types

With the introduction of Release Update 03 (RU03), 118 new sensitive types have been introduced, expanding coverage across key data domains.

Categorizing Sensitive Types

To make discovery and selection more intuitive, all sensitive types, both new and existing are now organized into eight predefined categories.

  • Academic
  • Biographic
  • Employment
  • Financial
  • Healthcare
  • Identification
  • Information Technology
  • User Defined

For more information, see Sensitive Type Catagorization

New Discovery Algorithm

The data discovery logic in RU03 has been enhanced to improve the accuracy and efficiency of identifying sensitive columns. A new ranking system determines how closely a column matches a sensitive type based on its name, comment, and data. Note that Java compatible regular expressions are now suppoorted. For more information, see Identifying Sensitive Columns

Oracle-Defined Masking Formats Cannot be Edited or Deleted

The Edit/Delete option is disabled for Oracle-defined Library Masking Formats.
