Shutting Down the GDS Stack

To shut down a GDS environment safely, stop clients, services, pools, GSMs, and then the catalog.

Shut down in reverse dependency order to avoid connection errors and incomplete work:

  1. Shut down the application tier and clients (stop new connections first).
  2. Stop the global services.
  3. Shut down the GDS pool databases and their local listeners.
  4. Stop the Global Service Managers (GSMs).
  5. Stop the GDS catalog database and its local listener.
