Preface

Oracle Spatial Developer's Guide provides usage and reference information for indexing and storing spatial data and for developing spatial applications using Oracle Spatial.

Oracle Spatial is a foundation for the deployment of enterprise-wide spatial information systems, and Web-based and wireless location-based applications requiring complex spatial data management.

The Standard and Enterprise Editions of Oracle AI Database have the same basic features. However, some advanced features, such as parallel operations, are available only with the Enterprise Edition. For more information relevant when using spatial data with Standard Edition 2 (SE2), see the "Spatial and Graph Data" table in Oracle AI Database Licensing Information User Manual.

Audience

This guide is intended for anyone who needs to store spatial data in an Oracle AI Database.
