2.1.6 Clone a Workflow Definition

Clone a workflow definition when you want to create a new definition based on an existing one. Cloning starts from the selected definition's JSON or visual structure, then saves it as a separate workflow definition, typically with a new name or version.

  1. Open the navigation menu and click Definitions.
  2. Click the Workflows tab.

The Workflows list page opens and displays the workflow definitions that have been created.

  3. (Optional.) Use the search bar to search for a workflow using its name or description.
  4. Identify the workflow that you want to clone, and then click Clone Workflow (Clone Workflow) under Actions.

The Clone Workflow dialog box is displayed.

  5. Enter a new unique name to identify a workflow. The name can be up to 128-characters long. Use only letters, numbers, underscores (_), and hyphens (-). Spaces and other special characters are not supported. You cannot change this name later.
  6. Enter a natural number as the version of the workflow.
  7. Click Clone.

The new workflow is displayed in the Workflow Builder.
