1.13.1 About ExaWatcher Charts

ExaWatcher collects and presents performance data from Oracle Exadata database servers and storage servers for a specified time period.

ExaWatcher collects statistics generated by various operating system and Oracle Exadata utilities, including iostat, mpstat, meminfo, rocestat, and cellsrvstat.

To extract collected data and generate the Exawatcher charts, run GetExaWatcherResults.sh and specify the start and end times for the desired period. The script writes the results to a compressed archive file in the directory you specify.

For example:

$ GetExaWatcherResults.sh --from 08/24/2026_17:00:00 --to 08/25/2026_17:00:00 --resultdir /var/log/oracle/ExaWatcherResults

Note:

You can also use the -c or --scp options to copy the resulting archive file to another location.

The generated charts are stored in the archive file under the following subdirectory:

Charts.ExaWatcher.<hostname>/<timestamp>_<duration>/

For example:

Charts.ExaWatcher.xxxxceladm13.oracle.com/2016_08_24_17_00_00_01h00m00s_0/

To view the HTML pages, extract the archive file on a machine with a local browser and Internet access. Then open the following file in a browser:

Charts.ExaWatcher.<hostname>/<timestamp>_<duration>/index.html

The left pane contains a menu of the available pages. Its contents depend on the system type and the collected data. For example, the CellSrvStat page is available only for a storage server, and the Alert History page is available only when alerts occurred during the requested time period.
