2.1.7 Exascale Volume Groups
Oracle Exadata System Software release 25.2.0 introduces volume groups in Exascale. A volume group is a specific collection of Exascale volumes.
Volume groups can be used to:
-
Easily identify volumes with a common purpose or inherent relationship, such as the volumes with a specific virtual machine (VM).
-
Efficiently create point-in-time consistent snapshots of all volumes in a volume group.
-
Collectively manage I/O resources consumed by all volumes in the group.
