Oracle Autonomous Health Framework (AHF) 26.3 Release Notes Summary

  • Diagnostic metadata indexing disabled by default: Lucene-based file metadata indexing is no longer enabled on new AHF installations. This lowers baseline CPU and memory usage, while still allowing administrators to enable indexing when faster metadata searches are needed.
  • Modernized Windows support: On Windows, TFA now uses PowerShell and Common Information Model (CIM) for system queries and remote commands, replacing the increasingly unavailable WMIC utility. WMIC remains a fallback for older environments.
  • Self-signed certificate validity set to 365 days: TFA-generated self-signed certificates initially expire after one year. Certificate renewal and node synchronization workflows have been updated to support regular rotation, with shorter validity planned in later releases.
  • New System Overview in Exachk reports: The Infrastructure Software and Configuration section of Exachk now includes a System Overview. It surfaces key Exadata deployment details in both HTML and JSON reports, reducing the need for manual environment verification.
  • Dynamic Load-Aware Scheduler for Exachk: Exachk can use machine learning and telemetry to recommend lower-load windows for daily health checks. This replaces fixed scheduling with a more adaptive approach intended to minimize operational impact.
  • CLI-based switch configuration management: Administrators can set, retrieve, validate, and remove switch configurations for individual switches, selected nodes, or all switches. Configuration data is stored securely in the AHF wallet.
  • New best-practice check: Orachk and Exachk add a check to verify that RMAN backup destinations use compliant storage or NFS mount options.
