Oracle Database Exadata Cloud Service provides full Oracle Databases hosted on Oracle Exadata Database Machine.

Exadata Cloud can be one of the following in the context of this book:

  • Exadata Cloud, referred in this book as Exadata Infrastructure, is based on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

    Exadata Infrastructure is available in two flavors:

    • Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure (ExaCS) is offered on Oracle Cloud, using state-of-the-art Oracle-managed data centers.
    • Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) provides Exadata Cloud Service hosted in your data center.

    The discovery of Exadata Infrastructure covers both flavors Oracle Exadata Database Service on Dedicated Infrastructure and Oracle Exadata Database Service on Cloud@Customer.

This book describes how you can use Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control for Exadata Cloud Service to:

  • Have a unified view of all the cloud components and their status
  • Efficiently manage cloud target resources
  • Perform typical administrative tasks on the cloud target and its component targets

Unless specified, the contents of this book are applicable to both Exadata Infrastructure and Gen1 Exadata Cloud.

This guide is intended for administrators of Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control for Exadata Cloud Service who manage and monitor the resources associated with these services.
