Exadata Exascale Management

Oracle Exadata Exascale is a suite of software services designed to manage Exadata storage servers and provide storage resources to multiple database server clusters. It enables secure sharing of storage resources with strict data isolation, while supporting flexible and dynamic storage provisioning for various users and databases. It also enables increased storage utilization and efficiency while reducing storage costs.

In Oracle Exascale, common management operations include configuring and administering shared components such as storage pools and vaults, as well as user-specific administration tasks such as managing user data and access. Oracle Enterprise Manager already provides monitoring capabilities for Exascale, visually depicting metrics such as space utilization for pool disks, storage pools and vaults, along with IOPS utilization. Efficient management of Exascale is critical because it simplifies and automates database administration, reduces operational costs, enhances performance, and delivers high scalability and flexibility.

Starting with Oracle Enterprise Manager 24ai Release 1 Update 7 (24.1.0.7), Oracle Enterprise Manager supports the administration of storage pools, vaults, users and privileges through the Exadata Management Pack. On the Exascale home page, from the main target menu, select Administration and then select the relevant sub-menu, namely, Users and Privileges, Storage Pools, or Vaults, to access the corresponding administration page.
