Discover and Monitor Exadata
Before Oracle Exadata Database Machines can be monitored in Enterprise Manager, the necessary steps required to discover and monitor Exadata must be completed.
Prepare OMS and Agents
Complete the following tasks to prepare the OMS and agents before discovering and monitoring Exadata:
Prepare for Exadata Database Machine Discovery
Before discovering the Exadata Database Machine and its related components, determine whether to use the discovery wizard in the user interface or the Enterprise Manager Command Line Interface (EMCLI).
For detailed information, see Discovery Method-specific Prerequisites.
Discover Exadata Database Machine Targets
Discover each Exadata Database Machine target and its related component targets using the selected discovery approach.
For detailed discovery procedures, see Exadata Database Machine Discovery.
Discover or Promote Related Software Targets on Each Host
After discovering the Exadata Database Machine and its related components, discover or promote the targets for software running on each physical database server or VM guest.
For more information, see Discovering and Adding Database Targets in Oracle Enterprise Manager Monitoring Guide.
Review Discovered Targets
After completing discovery, review all discovered targets to verify that they are properly configured and in a healthy state. Address any issues to ensure the targets are fully operational and ready for monitoring.
For more information, see Post-Discovery Configuration and Verification.
