About Planning Your Billing Care Installation

Before you install Oracle Communications Billing Care, plan the deployment capacity, connections, and security settings required for your environment.

  • Deployment capacity: Determine the number of Billing Care hosts required for your expected user count and transaction volume. Verify the hardware and software requirements in BRM Compatibility Matrix.

  • Network connections: Identify the host names and ports required for Billing Care to communicate with BRM and any optional services, such as an LDAP directory or Oracle Analytics Publisher.

  • Authentication and authorization: Production installations require authentication and authorization. Choose an OpenID Connect (OIDC) identity provider for authentication and single sign-on. Your security administrator configures the provider using its product documentation and supplies the connection details required by the Billing Care installer. Determine the roles and permissions users require. For authentication and authorization guidance, see "Billing Care Security" in BRM Security Guide.

  • Secure communication: Prepare the certificates, keystores, truststores, and credentials required to secure Billing Care application and administration connections and communication with BRM. Select the corresponding SSL options during installation. Restrict access to the Billing Care hosts.
