New Features in PDC 16.26.0

PDC 16.26.0 includes the following enhancements:

PDC Now Provides Change Set Status

PDC now provides end-to-end status information for change sets created during configuration and pricing imports. You can determine whether the applicable downstream rating engines successfully processed imported changes and view change-set and transformation status for real-time rating engine (RRE), batch rating engine (BRE), and Elastic Charging Engine (ECE). You can check status by using ImportExportPricing or the PDC REST APIs.

PDC Now Supports Configuring Rule-Based Candidate Selection

PDC now enables you to configure rule-based candidate selection for charge selectors and generic selectors used for ECE rating. You can specify how ECE selects a candidate when multiple selector rules or result branches match. You can also identify the currency or noncurrency balance element whose rating impact is used for the comparison.

You configure candidate selection by specifying Candidate Selection Mode for the charge selector or generic selector. The following modes are available:

  • First Match (FIRST_MATCH) selects the first matching charge selector rule or generic selector result branch in the configured order.

  • Lowest Value (MIN_IMPACT) evaluates all matching candidates and selects the candidate with the lowest signed immediate impact for the configured balance element.

  • Highest Value (MAX_IMPACT) evaluates all matching candidates and selects the candidate with the highest signed immediate impact for the configured balance element.

You specify the Candidate Selection Balance Element Code when using a rule-based selection mode. You can configure these settings in the PDC UI or by using ImportExportPricing.

FIRST_MATCH remains the default, so existing selectors that do not use rule-based candidate selection retain their existing first-match behavior. ECE uses the new configuration for rating.

For more information, see "Impact-Based Candidate Selection" in PDC Creating Product Offerings.

PDC Now Provides Enhanced Observability Metrics

PDC now provides enhanced observability metrics that help you monitor system health and API performance. You can monitor system-level metrics such as CPU utilization, memory usage, disk usage and I/O, and network activity for the PDC environment.

PDC also provides API performance metrics for the PDC REST API and PDC REST Services Manager. These metrics provide visibility into request volume, throughput, response latency, and successful and failed requests. PDC REST API metrics are available for the Pricing and Config APIs through the existing metrics endpoint.

You can collect the metrics with Prometheus and visualize them in Grafana dashboards.
