Acme Packet AP3950 Platform Preparation

This section describes the high-level steps required to prepare the Acme Packet AP3950 platform for deployment. The AP3950 platform is delivered as a pre-integrated hardware appliance. Communications Broker deployment on AP3950 follows the same software installation and initialization workflow used on other supported platforms.

Before beginning to use AP3950, ensure that you have read the information in the Acme Packet 3950/4900 Hardware Installation and Maintenance Guide.

This guide is written for network administrators, telecommunications equipment installers and technicians. It provides information related to the hardware components, features, installation, start-up, and operation of the Acme Packet 4900 system. This guide uses the phrase "Acme Packet 4900" throughout, but all the procedures and images are applicable to both the Acme Packet 4900 and the Acme Packet 3950, except where noted.

To prepare the AP3950 platform:
  1. Install the supported Communications Broker software image (P-Cz5.0.0 p3 and P-Cz5.1.0 and later.)
  2. Establish management access (console or SSH)
  3. Configure initial system parameters (management IP, login credentials)
  4. Proceed with standard the Communications Broker system initialization
