Configure Network Access for ECP Data Bridge

Open the firewall ports required to access the ECP Data Bridge local UI and SMB share.

After installing ECP Data Bridge, update the firewall configuration for the Cloud Connector network. The firewall must allow access to the local UI and the SMB share.
  • Install ECP Data Bridge on the Cloud Connector.

  • Ensure that you have permission to modify the Cloud Connector firewall configuration.

  • Identify the preferred network used to access ECP Data Bridge.

  1. In ECP, select Inventory.
  2. Locate and select the Cloud Connector on which ECP Data Bridge is installed.
The Cloud Connector details page opens.
  3. Select Network.
  4. Locate the preferred network used to access the Cloud Connector.
  5. From the preferred network actions menu, select Edit Firewall.
    The firewall settings drawer opens.
  6. Select Add Setting.
  7. Add port 445 for SMB access.
  8. Add the port used by the ECP Data Bridge local UI.
  9. Save the firewall configuration.
  10. Verify that the firewall configuration contains entries for:
  • SMB access on port 445.

  • The confirmed ECP Data Bridge local UI port.

The required firewall ports are open for the selected network.

The Cloud Connector must also be able to reach each source using the IP address and port configured for the FTP or SFTP connection. The source port is configured when the source connection is added; it is not a single fixed ECP Data Bridge port.
