SMB File Access

Access files stored by ECP Data Bridge from supported Windows and macOS systems through an SMB network share.

ECP Data Bridge exposes its local file storage as an authenticated SMB network share. Connect to the share from a supported Windows or macOS system on the Cloud Connector's local network.

Files downloaded from a configured source are stored in the same location that is exposed through the SMB share. The folder created for a transfer job contains the files downloaded as part of that job.

Use the same credentials configured for the ECP Data Bridge local UI to connect to the SMB share. The assigned role determines which file operations are available.

A read-only account can view folders and copy files from the share. A read-write account can also copy files to the share and modify, rename, or delete existing files.

Files copied to the SMB share use the same storage capacity as files downloaded through ECP Data Bridge. Deleting a downloaded file from the SMB share can also prevent a failed or canceled upload from being retried.
