Source File Download and Local Storage

ECP Data Bridge downloads the contents of a selected source folder to local storage on the Cloud Connector.

A source connection identifies the FTP or SFTP server and the folder from which ECP Data Bridge downloads files. Before initiating a transfer, you can browse the contents of the configured source folder and review the folders, files, and total transfer size.

You can select one folder for each transfer. The selected folder can include nested folders and files.

When the transfer begins, ECP Data Bridge creates a transfer job and downloads the selected folder contents to local storage on the Cloud Connector. The downloaded files are stored in a folder associated with the transfer job.

The local storage used for downloaded files is also exposed through the ECP Data Bridge SMB share. This enables the downloaded files to be accessed from supported Windows and macOS systems connected to the local network.

After the download completes successfully, ECP Data Bridge begins uploading the downloaded files to the configured OCI Object Storage bucket.

If the download is canceled or fails, files downloaded before the interruption remain in local storage. ECP Data Bridge does not upload the incomplete dataset or remove the partially downloaded files automatically.
