Update Location of a Device or Edge Node

You update location details from the item overview page of an individual device or edge node.

The Update location drawer contains the Registration and Deployment details section.

The Update location drawer contains the Deployment details section. It displays Deployment address and Deployment coordinates. When registration information applies, it also displays Registration address same as deployment location. Select the check box to use the deployment address as the registration address. Clear it to enter a separate Registration address.

When Registration address same as deployment location is cleared, the drawer shows separate Deployment address and Registration address fields. The map displays a pushpin marker for the deployment location and a home-shaped marker for the registration address.

If Oracle ECP cannot derive an address from the coordinates, the application shows Valid address not found below the address field. Selecting a valid address updates the deployment coordinates and lets you save the change.

For devices, deployment address is optional and deployment coordinates are required. For edge nodes without Starlink, deployment address is optional and deployment coordinates are required. For Starlink-connected edge nodes, additional registration and country-specific rules apply. The Update location drawer does not support country changes for the registration address.

Before You Begin
  • For a FirstNet registration address, use an address in the United States.
  • You cannot change the country of an existing registration address from the Update location drawer.
Procedure

  2. On the Inventory page, select Devices or Edge Nodes.
  3. Click the name of the device or edge node.
  4. In the item overview page for the device or edge node, click the Location tab.
  5. Click the Edit (pencil) icon.
  6. In the Update location drawer, update the deployment address or coordinates.
  7. If registration address applies, select or clear Registration address same as deployment location, and update the registration address as needed.
  8. Review the markers on the map. If Oracle ECP displays Valid address not found, select a valid suggested address or correct the coordinates before continuing.
  9. Click Update.
Oracle ECP saves the values and refreshes the item Location tab. The deployment marker uses the updated deployment coordinates. Registration address remains in the item details pane.
