20 Storage Expansion Support for Mediation Engine

The Storage Expansion tool allows administrators to increase the storage allocated to Session Monitor without requiring a full reinstallation.

This capability is achieved using a command-line script that supports both single-disk and dual-disk system configurations, enabling a flexible expansion of MySQL database and Block Storage independently or together, according to the available space.

Key Capabilities

• Expand storage for MySQL database, Block Storage, or both.
• Support for single-disk and dual-disk system setups.
• Ensure zero downtime during expansion without requiring system reinstallation.
• Validate inputs robustly and confirm with users to reduce misconfiguration risks.
• Provide comprehensive information and Help command options.
• Exclude support for reducing (shrinking) storage allocations.

Important Notes

• Storage expansion is supported on Mediation Engine and Mediation Engine + Probe nodes only.
• Only dual-disk system setups support separate expansion of MySQL and Block storage.
• It is recommended to run the script during off-peak traffic hours.
