Using the TopN Device Overview Dashboard
You use the TopN Device Overview Dashboard to get a data-driven view of the most critical devices, interfaces, and QoS elements in the network based on performance, utilization, and availability metrics. You can rapidly identify stressed resources, detect degradation and availability risks, focus troubleshooting on the most impactful devices and interfaces, and drill down to detailed device or interface views.
Note:
By default, the value of N in TopN is 100. You can customize this value as needed. If you customize the TopN value, update the title of each visualization title to accurately reflect the displayed N.
The dashboard is organized into four tabs:
TopN Overview
The TopN Overview tab provides a consolidated, high-level view of the most critical devices and interfaces across the network. It combines TopN leaderboards with interface-focused tables so you can quickly pinpoint hotspots and then move to deeper analysis.
This tab includes the following panels:
Top 100 Devices with Highest CPU Utilization
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart ranking devices by CPU usage. Use this to spot devices under sustained processor load.
Top 100 Devices with Highest Memory Utilization
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart ranking devices by percentage of memory used. It highlights devices at risk of memory pressure.
Top 100 Devices with Highest System Uptime
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of devices with the longest continuous uptime.
Top 100 Devices with Highest Latency
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of devices experiencing the highest network latency.
Top 100 Devices with Highest Ping Jitter
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of devices with the highest ping jitter. Use this to find devices with unstable or fluctuating latency.
Top 100 Devices with Highest Packet Loss
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of devices where packet drops are most significant.
Top 100 Devices with Lowest Availability
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of devices with the poorest availability percentages.
Top 100 Interfaces by Bandwidth Usage
This panel shows a table listing interfaces with the highest bandwidth usage. Use it to identify interfaces that are heavily utilized and may be approaching capacity.
Top 100 Interfaces by Discards
This panel shows a table listing interfaces with the most discards. Use it to find possible congestion or configuration issues.
Top 100 Interfaces by Errors
This panel shows a table listing interfaces with the most errors. Use it to highlight interfaces with error conditions that could impact network reliability.
Note:
In the bar charts and the interface tables, interface names are clickable hyperlinks that navigate to the Interface Overview Dashboard of the specific interface for drill-down analysis.
TopN Devices
The TopN Devices tab provides a focused view of device-level resource utilization so you can quickly identify devices under heavy CPU or memory load, assess trends, and review detailed metrics.
This tab has the following child tabs:
CPU
The CPU child tab combines scorecards, TopN rankings, time-series trends, and a details table. Use it to gain comprehensive visibility into CPU utilization across all monitored devices.
This child tab includes the following panels:
Full CPU Utilization
This panel consists of a scorecard showing the number of devices currently operating at 100% CPU utilization.
Devices Over Threshold, Utilization > 90%
This panel consists of a scorecard showing the number of devices above the 90% threshold. It indicates how many devices are critically loaded and may require immediate attention.
Devices Over Threshold, Utilization > 80%
This panel consists of a scorecard showing the number of devices above the 80% threshold. It indicates how many devices are approaching high utilization thresholds and are potentially at risk.
Top 100 Devices - CPU Utilization
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of the top 100 devices by CPU usage, allowing for quick comparison between devices. The device name is a clickable hyperlink that opens the Device Overview Dashboard for that device. See Using the Device Overview Dashboard for more details.
Top 10 Devices - CPU Utilization over Time
This panel consists of a time-series chart showing CPU utilization trends for the top 10 devices. Use it to identify sustained high usage, spikes, and recurring patterns.
Top 100 - Device Details
This panel shows a table presenting the top 100 devices with the highest average CPU utilization. For each device, the table displays:

This table provides both historical and real-time perspectives. You can use it to correlate long-term behaviour with current conditions.
Memory
The Memory child tab highlights memory consumption and capacity usage, combining scorecards, TopN rankings, time-series trends, and a details table. Use it to identify memory pressure and potential performance risks.
This child tab includes the following panels:
Full Memory Used
This panel consists of a scorecard showing the number of devices at 100% memory usage.
Devices Over Threshold, Utilization > 90%
This panel consists of a scorecard highlighting devices at 90% memory usage. It indicates how many devices are at critical memory usage levels.
Devices Over Threshold, Utilization > 80%
This panel consists of a scorecard highlighting devices at 80% memory usage. It indicates how many devices are approaching high memory thresholds.
Top 100 Devices - Memory Utilization
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of the top 100 devices using the highest percentage of their available memory. The device name is a clickable hyperlink that opens the Device Overview Dashboard for that device. See Using the Device Overview Dashboard for more details.
Top 100 Devices - Memory Usage
This panel shows a horizontal bar chart of the top 100 devices consuming the largest absolute amount of memory. The device name is a clickable hyperlink that opens the Device Overview Dashboard for that device. See Using the Device Overview Dashboard for more details.
Note:
By using the two bar charts mentioned above, you can differentiate between devices that are memory-intensive and those that are constrained by limited memory capacity.
Top 10 Devices - Memory Utilization over Time
This panel shows a time-series chart of memory utilization trends for the top 10 devices. Use it to identify sustained memory pressure, gradual leaks, or sudden spikes.
Top 100 - Device Details
This panel shows a table presenting the top 100 devices with the highest average memory utilization. For each device, the table displays:

TopN Interfaces

Use it to identify interfaces experiencing packet handling issues, detect congestion, misconfiguration, or physical-layer problems, and quickly drill down from summary insights to detailed interface analysis.

This panel consists of a scorecard showing how many interfaces exceed the inbound discards threshold.

Top 100 - Interface Discards Details
This panel shows a table presenting the top 100 devices with the highest number of inbound and outbound discards. For each interface, the table displays:

Availability
The Availability child tab focuses on devices with the lowest availability over a selected time period.
This child tab includes the following panels:
Devices, Availability <= 50%
This panel consists of a scorecard showing how many devices fall below the minimum availability threshold.
Top 10 - Lowest Availability Over Time
This panel shows a time-series visualization displaying availability trends over the selected time range for the 10 devices with the lowest availability. You use it to identify disruption windows and devices with recurring outages.
Top 100 - Device Details
This panel shows a table presenting the top 100 devices with the lowest availability. For each device, the table displays:

Latency
The Latency child tab focuses on devices experiencing high network latency.

Devices, Latency <= 50ms
This panel consists of a scorecard showing how many devices fall below the latency threshold.
Top 10 - Highest Latency Over Time
This panel shows a time-series visualization displaying latency trends over time for the 10 devices with the highest latency during the selected time period. You use it to identify persistent latency issues, latency spikes, and time-based performance degradation.
Top 100 Device Details - Latency
This panel shows a table presenting the top 100 devices with the highest average latency. For each device, the table displays:

This panel shows a time-series visualization displaying packet loss trends over the selected time interval for the top 10 most affected devices.
Top 100 - Devices with Highest Packet Loss
This panel consists of a horizontal bar chart displaying the ranked comparison of the top 100 most affected devices based on packet loss percentage.
Top 100 - Device Details
This panel shows a table presenting the top 100 devices with the highest average packet loss. For each device, the table displays:
