Menus
Menus is a standard tree configuration interface for adding, editing, and removing the custom menus that appear when right-clicking in a Topology view. You can create hierarchies of menus. The Root menu appears at the top level of the hierarchy. The Default Topology Tools submenu contains tools that may be useful for the Administrators and Operators user groups. You can create additional submenus at any level.
For information about interacting with the grid and form, see Standard Tree Configuration Interface in Unified Assurance Concepts.
This user interface calls REST methods from the api/topology/menus endpoints. See REST API for Unified Assurance Core for details.
To open this interface, from the main navigation menu, select Configuration, then Graph, then Topology, and then Menus.
Form Fields
-
Menu Name: The name for the menu.
-
Default Menu: If checked, the selected menu will be the default menu for user groups where the RestrictiveTopologyMenuID property is not set.
-
Tools: The tools in the menu.
Best Practices
-
You can use the -- Separator -- tool to create a horizontal line in the menu to visually separate tools.
-
The menus you have access to in the Menus UI and in topology graphs depend on the RestrictiveTopologyMenuID properties for your primary user group and subgroups. If no restrictive properties are set, most users have access to the menu for which Default Menu is selected. If you have subgroups, the least restrictive setting applies.
When creating a new user group, Oracle recommends also creating a new topology menu to set as the restrictive menu for the group.
For users in groups whose role has the SUPER permission, the default menu may be different. See Context Menus with Multi-Group Users and Restrictive Menus Access in Unified Assurance Security Guide for more information.
