About Importing and Exporting Data

Import/Export features allow you to bring data into P6 as well as export data to other tools when needed. Global and Project level privileges control the ability to import and export data.

When you export projects to XML or XER format, P6 adds a SHA-256 checksum to the exported files. P6 validates the checksum during import to detect files that might have changed or been damaged after export. If the checksum doesn't match on import, P6 will stop the import, warn you that the file might have changed or been damaged, and ask whether you still want to import the file.
