Configuring Publication Service Settings for Baselines

After enabling automatic publishing or adding a job to publish project data on a scheduled basis, perform the following procedure to configure settings for each individual project's baselines in Publication Services. If you chose to publish project data on a scheduled basis, you can select the baselines to publish on the basis of their assignment as the project baseline or as the user's primary, secondary, or tertiary baseline and select or exclude specific baselines to publish. Then, as you work, P6 automatically detects the changes to your baselines that trigger the publication of its data in the service queue.

To configure Publication Service settings for a baseline:

1. In the context selector, select Projects.
2. Click Open Projects.
3. In the Open Projects dialog box:
   1. Open one or more projects whose baselines you want to enable for publication.
4. On the Navigation Menu, expand Projects and click Activities or EPS.
5. On the Activities or EPS page, click Actions and select Define Baselines.

6. Note:

   The selections you make here control the baselines that will be published if you use the Publish Projects item on the Actions menu of the EPS or Activities page. The baselines published by a scheduled service must be selected in the Baselines field of the Project Settings detail tab of the service on the Project Scheduled Services page.
   In the Define Baselines dialog box:
   1. If you want to switch on publication for all the configured baselines for a project, select the Publish option in the project band.
   2. If you want to switch on publication for only some baselines for a project, expand the project band and select the Publish option for the baselines you want to publish.
   3. Click Save.
