Earned Value Analysis
To access Earned Value Analysis:
- Go to the project/shell tab, and switch to User mode.
- In the left Navigator, select Earned Value Manager, and then select Earned Value Analysis.
The Earned Value Analysis node uses scheduling data, including activities and rates, that is imported from P6 through integration. You can use the Earned Value Analysis node to:
- Perform earned value analysis corresponding for the System or Manual activity sheet in a shell.
- Run the earned value analysis directly for cost-loaded projects.
Note:
For resource-loaded projects, calculate resource and role rates before you analyze earned value and other matrices.
Earned Value Calculations
Planned Value (PV), Actual Value (AC), and Earned Value (EV) are required to calculate variances, indexes, and project values at completion. Unifier performs these calculations in the System or Manual activity sheet and rolls up the values to the Earned Value Analysis scenario.
Unifier uses the values for each project, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) or Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) to plot graphs. The graphs provide a visual representation of project health and help you forecast outcomes based on performance indexes.
Projects can use eligible CBS-only business process (BP) actuals as an Actual Cost source for earned value management (EVM). During EVM calculation, Unifier uses uuu_effective_date to assign the actual amount in the applicable EVM month. This behavior is consistent with the established period-assignment behavior for CBS and WBS BP actuals.

Important Considerations
- Avoid Cost Sheet columns that contain multiple BP sources for the same actual cost transactions unless the system explicitly supports duplicate prevention.
- Ensure that
uuu_effective_dateis populated consistently for CBS and WBS BP records and CBS-only BP records and line items. EVM month assignment uses this date. - CBS-only BP values are assigned to the month specified by the BP
uuu_effective_date, not the current Data Date month. - When a CBS-only BP does not align with an activity or WBS, Actual Cost might be available at the CBS and month levels but not at the activity level. Availability depends on whether the existing EVM allocation logic supports that distribution.
