Updating the User-Defined Reports in Shells
The following information applies when you update user-defined reports (UDRs) in a project/shell:
- Reports are identified by the combination of Name and Data Type.
- Report names do not have to be unique.
- If the report name and data type does not exist, Unifier adds the new report.
- The original report owner is added to the Users or Groups of the report in the receiving project/shell on the Permission tab
- The administrator of the receiving project/shell becomes the report owner.
- If a report with the same name and data type exists in the receiving project/shell, Unifier replaces the existing report with the new report. The new report determines the following information:
- Report updates
- Added or changed users or groups
- Added or changed permissions
To add or update user-defined reports using Update Shells:
- Go to the Company Workspace tab, and switch to Admin mode.
- In the left Navigator, select Templates, and then select Shells.
- Open the shell template that you want to update.
- In the left Navigator, select Reports, and then select User-Defined.
- Add a UDR to the shell type template, or select a UDR to edit its properties.
- Select one or more reports from the User-Defined Reports log.
- Select Update Shells, and then select one of the following:
- Shells: Select one or more shells to update. When the update window opens, it lists all shells in the project. Use Find to isolate the shells you want to update. The Find window contains data elements (DEs) from the defined Find form. After you isolate the shells to update, select Update, and then select either Selected Shell(s) or All Filtered Shells.
- All Shells: Update all shells of that shell type.
- History: View the update history from previous updates or cancel a request before the update starts.
An Alert window opens and states that you are about to push changes to the selected shells. There is no undo for the update.
- To continue with the update, select Yes.
