Access and Roles
Manage Access to Visual Explorer
Provide users with an authenticated account and the authorization required to access Visual Explorer. Follow your organization’s identity-management and least-privilege practices when assigning access.
Use organization-managed groups or equivalent access structures where available. This makes onboarding, role changes, and offboarding consistent with your organization’s identity-governance process.
Onboard a User
- Confirm that the user needs access to Visual Explorer for their assigned work.
- Assign the user through the organization’s approved identity and authorization process.
- Ask the user to sign in and verify that Visual Explorer loads successfully.
- Confirm that the user can find the expected configured crops, regions, and layers.
Maintain Access
Review access when a user changes responsibilities or leaves the organization. Remove or update access through the same identity-governance process used for onboarding. Periodically review active access to confirm that it remains appropriate.
Validate the User Experience
For a representative user, verify that the following are available as appropriate to the environment:
- Visual Explorer opens after authentication.
- The user can search and select configured regions.
- The user sees only configured and available crops.
- The data-layers control lists layers that have active data.
- Map and production data correspond to the selected region, crop, layer, and dataset.
If a user cannot see expected content, first verify the user’s access, the selected crop and region, and whether the relevant layer and detection date are available. For a structured troubleshooting approach, see Operational Validation and Support.
