Decision Workflows
Use Visual Explorer to gather and compare evidence before a planning, monitoring, or field-engagement discussion. The following workflows describe common ways public-sector teams can use the available information.
Review Crop Presence in an Area
Use this workflow when you need to understand where the selected crop has been detected in an area of interest.
- Select Crop Detection and choose the crop.
- Search for or navigate to the administrative area you want to investigate.
- Zoom to the map detail where crop-detection information is available.
- Select a detected area to review its crop and date context.
- Use the result with local knowledge or field information when further validation is needed.
Value: This workflow helps a team focus a crop-presence discussion on the places where the selected crop is represented in the available dataset.
Investigate Crop Health Patterns
Use this workflow when you need to explore whether the selected crop shows different vegetation-health patterns across an area.
- Select Crop Health (NDVI) and choose the crop.
- Navigate to the area and detail level you need to review.
- Use the map styling and tooltip to examine the available NDVI value and classification.
- Compare nearby areas in the same crop and date context.
- Record the area, date, and observations for follow-up with relevant agronomic or local teams.
Value: This workflow helps teams turn a broad visual pattern into a focused question for local assessment; it does not, by itself, establish the cause of a crop condition.
Compare Regional Production Context
Use this workflow when you need to compare available production information across administrative regions.
- Select Crop Production and choose the crop.
- Focus the map on the country or region being reviewed.
- Use yield categories to identify areas for closer inspection.
- Open the production panel for a region and review forecast, detected-area, and yield information.
- Review history and sub-regions where available; use the chart or download to support the planning discussion.
Value: This workflow helps users compare areas in a consistent regional context and identify where they need additional analysis or local confirmation.
Prepare a Briefing
Before sharing Visual Explorer findings, record the selected crop, layer, region, and detection date. Include the map pattern and the values that support the observation, then state any relevant limits—for example, the available scale, incomplete data coverage, or the difference between historical production and a current forecast.
This keeps the discussion grounded in the evidence actually displayed by Visual Explorer.
