Outage Inquiry

Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing provides query transactions that can be used to make real-time synchronous calls to NMS and inquire on one of the following:

  • Job History for a particular customer, service point, location or call identifier
  • Call History for a particular customer, service point, location or call identifier
  • Planned Outage Jobs for a particular service point

The product also supports the option of storing key Outage Event information in snapshot database tables for the purpose of reporting on active, planned and recently resolved outages. This information is made available by Oracle Utilities Network Management System as part of the integration flow that notifies impacted customers of outage event updates. The outage notification integration flow can be enabled to also share records for the latest updates of an outage event. Having outage data readily available within the application allows for more robust inquiries and insight analysis that does not overload the outage management system with real-time calls.

Refer to the Oracle Utilities Notifications Hub Configuration Guide for information about enabling outage data snapshot integration. When enabled, outage data is interfaced in using the Outage Event Notifications (C1-OutageEventNotifications) web service.
