Non-Billed Budgets Versus Other Plans For Payment

Unlike a regular budget but like a payment plan, a Non-Billed Budget has one or more scheduled payments. However, unlike payment plans, bills are not produced for the scheduled payment amounts. Instead, customers are simply notified of the payment schedule and it is their responsibility to make the scheduled payments. In general, the following statements highlight the differences between Non-Billed Budgets and other payment plans.

  • There is a payment schedule that is not dependent on billing, unlike budget plans.
  • Non-Billed Budgets are not limited to SAs of a single debt class, unlike pay plans.
  • Debt is not transferred from regular SAs to the non-billed budgets, unlike payment arrangements.
Warning:

Non-Billed Budgets and Budget Plans! An SA should not be on a Non-Billed Budget if it is on a budget plan . A Non-Billed Budget overrides any budget functionality in most cases. However, placing an SA that is on a budget on a Non-Billed Budget may result in indeterminate results. For example, when the Non-Billed Budget is broken, the stop algorithm for the Non-Billed Budget syncs current and payoff balances for those utility SAs that were covered by the Non-Billed Budget.
